OCRE Technical Service Validation and Commodity Services Requirements Lead Joao Fernandes, CERN, will participate in the OGC New Space Workshop: Europe on 15 October. He will be part of a panel discussing Cloud Based Data Services at 16:15 CEST where he will have the chance to speak about OCRE.
‘New Space’ is a paradigm driven by a combination of technology and market advances such as rocket launches, small satellites, orbital planes, evolving sensors, and ground infrastructures. With this in mind, the location community must have a platform for understanding the impacts of New Space on standards, data integration and decision making. In order to drive this conversation forward, in May, 2020 OGC met with the greater location and space communities for the first ever New Space Workshop.
As a follow-on conversation to the May New Space Workshop, OGC and EARSC are hosting a two-day session from a global perspective revolving around impacts, dynamics, and standards in New Space that highlights these new technologies, the information powering them, and how they are integrated.
