Description, Purpose and Scope
OCRE's session is titled, "Free Commercial EO services for European Research: Requirements Gathering" and will be held in the Metallica Agora. The project expects to engage users of Earth observation digital services.
The session is OCRE's 3rd Requirements Gathering Workshop, which will be held as a part of the European Space Agency's Living Planet Symposium 2019 on 14 May 2019.
Requirements workshops allow OCRE to get the research market's data and digital services needs. Input to these workshops will be used to source the next generation digital Earth Observation services from commercial suppliers for inclusion into the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
At the same time, select researchers can also benefit from OCRE's vouchers, allowing them to access resources for free (at the point of the user). The workshop will explain how to apply for these vouchers as well.
Who should attend
Users of Earth Observation tools and Copernicus DIAS platforms, scientists working with satellite, environmental, geological, atmospheric, marine data and digital solutions
Main benefits for the audience
- Understand what OCRE can do for you
- Make you and your peers' digital solution needs known and have them be included in the OCRE tender
- Understand how to benefit from the cloud vouchers
- Learn which institutions you are affiliated with can benefit from the OCRE on an institutional level
- Educate yourself on the roles of your national research and education network (NREN) and how you can engage with them
